The registration period for the 2,880 places put up for competition at the post-secondary schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) is extended by two days, until May 16, 2024. In the future, registration applications will be sent in electronic format to the addresses of e-mail of the recruitment units.
At police officer schools, competition has collapsed
According to the MAI, with the extension of the deadline for submitting the application for registration, the period for submitting recruitment files will also be extended, the new deadline for submitting them being May 24, 2024.
“We remind you that people interested in registering for the admission competition at one of the six educational institutions of the MAI can send their application to the recruitment units of the county police, gendarmerie or emergency inspectorates, as well as to the territorial inspectorates of the border police and at the human resources structures of the general inspectorates at the central level, depending on the candidates' option.
People who opt for the Border Police positions and do not live in a county bordering the state border, can contact the human resources structures in the units subordinate to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, according to the domicile or residence in the identity card.
We specify that the e-mail addresses to which enrollment requests are sent are posted on the official website of the recruiting units, and each candidate can enroll at only one post-secondary school. Also, the topic and bibliography for the knowledge assessment test are published on the websites of the educational units for which the candidate has registered.

We remind you that the MAI organizes, between April and July 2024, an admissions session at the post-secondary schools where police officers, non-commissioned officers and military foremen are trained.
Broken down by institutions, the tuition figures for this session are: “Vasile Lascăr” Police Officers' School Câmpina – 1,340 places, “Septimiu Mureșan” Police Officers' School Cluj-Napoca – 300 places, Police Officers' Training School “Avram Iancu” Oradea – 240 places, “Grigore Alexandru Ghica” Drăgășani Military School for Gendarmerie NCOs – 350 places, “Petru Rareș” Fălticeni Military School for Gendarmerie NCOs – 350 places, Fire and Protection NCO School Civil “Pavel Zăgănescu” Boldești – 300 seats.
Upon receipt of the standard application, the person in charge of recruitment assigns the candidate a unique identification code, as well as the regional center to which he is assigned, after which he scans it and sends it to the e-mail address indicated by the candidate.
For the recruitment file, candidates submit all the required documents by May 24, 2024. The psychological evaluation of the candidates and the resolution of any appeals are completed within this period.
Also, between May 28-31, 2024, the candidates will have to take the physical performance evaluation test held in the regional selection centers according to the arrondissement, regardless of the educational unit they opted for, as follows:
– “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy – for candidates from the City of Bucharest and the counties of Argeș, Călărași, Constanța, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Ilfov, Teleorman, Tulcea;
– “Vasile Lascăr” Câmpina School of Police Officers – for candidates from Brașov, Brăila, Buzău, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Galați, Prahova, Vrancea counties;
– School of Police Agents “Septimiu Mureșan” Cluj-Napoca – for candidates from Alba, Bistrița-Năsăud, Cluj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Mureș, Sălaj, Sibiu counties;
– “Avram Iancu” Oradea Border Police Agent Training School – for candidates from the counties of Arad, Bihor, Caraș-Severin, Satu Mare, Timiș;
– “Grigore Alexandru Ghica” Drăgășani Military School for Gendarmerie NCOs – for candidates from Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți, Olt, Vâlcea counties;
– “Petru Rareș” Fălticeni Gendarmerie NCO Military School – for candidates from the counties of Bacău, Botoșani, Iași, Neamț, Suceava, Vaslui;
– Attention! Candidates for the “Pavel Zăgănescu” Boldesti School of Non-Commissioned Firefighters and Civil Protection take the physical performance evaluation test exclusively at the headquarters of this educational institution.
It should be mentioned that the distribution for taking the test is carried out by the educational unit for which the candidate has opted, and the planning for taking the test will be carried out through the regional selection center to which he is assigned.
The distribution, planning and results obtained will be posted on the official websites of the educational units for which the candidates have opted, as well as on the websites of the zonal selection centers.
This test will not be contested, repeated or re-examined. At the same time, the practical-applicative route will be carried out in the presence of three representatives of the parents, chosen by lot, from among those who express their agreement, daily, before the start of the test, for each individual series.
The knowledge assessment test will take place on June 15, 2024, at the educational units for which they have opted, by the candidates who have passed the physical performance assessment test.
For candidates for admission to post-secondary education institutions, the knowledge assessment test consists of a grid test, which will include Romanian language subjects – in proportion to 40%, foreign language subjects – in proportion to 15%, subjects from the specific legislation of the Ministry of Interior, as well as of the political institutions of the state – in proportion of 20%, subjects of civic and citizenship education, exercises to assess the ability to analyze and synthesize, as well as exercises regarding the acquisition of logical reasoning – in proportion of 15% , and the official score represents 10% of the maximum grade.
For the foreign language, the candidate has the possibility to opt for one of the following subjects, through the application form: English or French.
Any objections regarding this competition test are sent by candidates online to the e-mail address of the educational unit for which they are applying and are resolved at its headquarters, within 48 hours of submission.
The medical examination is carried out between June 19 and July 12, 2024, for candidates who fall within the number of places available in the admissions competition, depending on the educational institution concerned, in descending order of final grades.
The educational institutions post on the official websites, at the end of each day, the situation of the candidates who have completed the medical examination, successively, until the number of places taken out for the admission competition is filled.
The final results of the admission will be made known to the candidates by displaying them at the headquarters of the educational units and by posting them on their official websites, until July 19, 2024.
