The patient had a brain tumor formation that was successfully removed by the neurosurgeon team from the “Sf. Andrei” Galati County Emergency Hospital.

Currently, the patient, 51 years old, is in a very good condition and follows the postoperative medical recovery procedures.

“We are extremely happy that state -of -the -art medical technology, acquired by the Galati County Council, allows our doctors to carry out more and more complex interventions – operations that save lives and which, until now, were possible only in the big university centers in the country.” said Costel Fotea, president of CJ Galați.

The neuronavigation system works like a “GPS for the brain ”, using MRI or CT images to build a three -dimensional map of patient anatomy.

During the operation, the surgeon is guided in real time by this digital model, which increases the accuracy and safety of the medical act.

The operation was successfully performed by the medical team formed by Dr. Cătălin Grigorică, Dr. Eduard Tronciu, Dr. Ionuț Panțiru, Dr. Adrian Ichim, Dr. Corina Manole and Dr. Alina Căuș.

This premiere places Galați on the map of medical centers in Romania that use the most advanced technologies in neurosurgery.
