A dog that went missing during an exhibition was found by the police after 48 hours: “Crying with joy!”

A Weimaraner breed dog, belonging to a family from Italy, which had disappeared on Sunday during a dog show organized in the Băile 1 Mai resort, Bihor county, was recovered on Tuesday morning by two Bihor policemen, after almost 48 hours of searching.

The quadruped, a four-year-old female named Eyes, with the pedigree “Sardulian Sweet Eyes Cuore Grigio” (Dlhote family), had fled into the wooded area near the perimeter of the event. The family, who came especially from Italy for the competition, immediately started looking for her and asked for the support of the police from Băile Felix, Bihor county.

The local community also mobilized: photos of the dog were widely shared online, and volunteers began searching the entire area. The searches also extended to the localities of Oșorhei, Hidișel and Alparea, according to the publication eBihoreanul.

Police found the dog safe

On Tuesday morning, the dog was found in Rontău by two police officers: Gabi Țica, from Criminal Investigations, and Alin Creț, from the Proximity Department, both of whom have the rank of deputy chief agent. Eyes had taken shelter on the first floor of a house under construction and was exhausted. The animal was transported safely to police headquarters, where the owners immediately came to retrieve it.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the woman hugged and kissed all the police officers present. Although he tried to offer a reward to the two agents who found the dog, they refused it.
