A high school graduate who initially passed the baccalaureate contested the exam grades. What grades did he get on the re-correction?

A graduate of the XIIth grade, from the “Samuil Vulcan” National College in Beiuș, Bihor county, will remember for the rest of his life the error he made this year in the Baccalaureate exam.

Dissatisfied with the grades obtained, although they ensured he passed the matriculation exam, he chose to challenge all the results.

The student had taken 6.05 in Romanian Language and Literature, 7.65 in History and 5.70 in Logic, a total average of 6.46. After re-evaluation, he found himself with reduced grades in Romanian language and history, 585, respectively 6.40, insufficient to pass the baccalaureate with 5.98.

Almost 49,000 grades from Baccalaureate 2024, June-July session, were wrong and changed after appeals, the Ministry of Education reports in a press release published after the announcement of the final results.

Out of 51,373 appeals, 48,896 were amended. In percentage terms, 95.1% of grades were wrong and corrected on appeals and only 5% of grades remained unchanged. “51,373 appeals were submitted (54,632 – in the similar session last year, 49,115 appeals – in 2022, respectively 55,980 appeals – in 2021).

Of this total, 21,770 appeals concerned grades in the Romanian language and literature, 592 appeals were in the mother tongue, 14,694 appeals in the mathematics and history test and 14,317 appeals were registered in the profile choice test.
