Footage of a humanoid robot wearing a clown wig accidentally hitting a child during a martial arts demonstration in China has gone viral, sparking talk of a possible “robot revolt”.

Several images filmed in the Xinjiang region of northwestern China have gone viral on social media, after many netizens commented on the incident during a public demonstration of martial arts supported by a humanoid robot, with some of them even making alarmist claims about a possible “robot revolt”.
The protagonist of the video is the G1 humanoid robot, produced by the Unitree company, a model known for its ability to perform complex movements, this time inspired by martial arts. During the demonstration, the humanoid robot was wearing a blue clown wig, a detail that immediately attracted the attention of those who then redistributed the footage commenting on this very aspect.
The incident took place while the robot was on a platform, in front of a group of spectators, including many children, and was performing a series of controlled movements, simulating kicks and karate figures.
Thus, during a rotation, the robot accidentally hit a nearby child in the abdomen. The heavy blow caused him to crouch in pain, clutching his stomach, before falling to the ground.
Those present at the demonstration were astonished, and the robot also remained for a few seconds in a fixed position, after which it slowly retreated to the back, from the demonstration area.
According to the international media, the child did not suffer serious injuries, but was evaluated later to rule out possible complications.
The clip quickly spread on social platforms, where it generated numerous comments. Some users treated the incident with humor, referring to the clown wig that the robot was wearing, while others launched scenarios about a possible “robot revolt” or drew attention to the risks that public demonstrations involving humanoid robots can have, especially since this is not an isolated incident.
The G1 robot is designed to reproduce complex dynamic movements and can develop considerable force during programmed executions, which explains the impact felt by the child during the demonstration.
The authorities or organizers of the event have not yet communicated whether the incident will lead to changes in the way such public demonstrations are carried out.
