A revolutionary procedure that unlocks the brain traffic will be used at the largest hospital in southeast of Romania. Hundreds of procedures have been carried out from the beginning of the thrombolysis program at Galati County Hospital.

The procedure can be implemented after the neurology section and the acute stroke (stroke) of the Galati Hospital have been modernized and equipped to the highest standards.
“The next step will be thrombectomy, a revolutionary procedure that will allow the extracting of the thrombus that blocks the brain circulation, increasing the chances of full recovery”, Announced the Galați County Council.
According to the quoted source, the acute therapy unit of the stroke has eight new beds, “Each equipped with supervisory monitor, injectomat and oxygen therapy”.
They are also ultra -modern features, such as the medical crane for overweight patients, hand hygiene devices and a performing functional exploration laboratory.
The clinical neurology section has modern salons, with own bathrooms, TVs, refrigerators and alarm buttons, but also dedicated rooms for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and post-AVC neurological recovery.
International Recognition: Two Gold Award Awards
The Clinical Section of Neurology Galati within the County Hospital “Sf. Apostol Andrei ”received two Gold Award prizes from the European stroke, for the performances in the treatment of stroke.
“In the treatment of stroke, every second matters. With this modernized unit, patients will benefit from rapid and specialized care, directly in the dedicated section, without crowding the intensive therapy. We save lives, improve patient recovery and offer modern conditions for treatment. This is still an important step in our strategy to transform the Galati Emergency Hospital into a national reference unit ”, said Costel Fotea, president of the Galați County Council.
So far, 460 thrombolites have been performed in Galați, and in many cases, patients have completely regained their neurological functions.
