The European authorities have launched an alert in all EU member countries regarding the existence of toxic substances discovered in the composition of several cosmetic and body care products that are sold including in stores in Romania.

These chemicals should not be found in the composition of the products we use. The reason? Once absorbed into the body, the substances can seriously affect our health.
InfoCons representatives announce that seven products containing prohibited substances were discovered following the controls.
- Nourishing Body care moisturizing cream, 75 ml, from Dove;
- Nivea Reaffirmante body lotion;
- Hair repair shampoo 250 ml from GLISS;
- Dermo Spa Peach body butter by Pure Essence;
- Dermo Spa Peach body butter body cream, l 200 ml, from Pure Essence;
- Hand cream, 50 ml, BB cream Skin perfector Foundation from Gabrini;
- UNIQUE perfume from New Brand Perfumes. The product is Eau de toilette, intended for men, per 100 ml.
According to the ingredients list, the product contains 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), which is banned in cosmetics. BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, harm the health of the fetus, and cause skin sensitization. The product does not comply with the Regulation on cosmetic products.
