The athlete was shot while walking through a neighborhood in the western Sydney, from a car that started immediately after the crime. The Australian of Iranian origin died on the spot. A few days before this incident, another armed attack targeted another professional fighter, Farhood Khalatbar, a Mokhtarian training colleague.
Survived the first attack
And last year, the fighter killed now was the victim of another attack, even in the gym used by the two. Suman Mokhtarian was the target of some shootings, but he managed to survive. The police tried during this time to protect him, canceling several events in which he was going to attend, but the inevitable eventually produced.
