The European vice-champions have passed today, in the semifinals, the South Korean couple Yubin Shin/Hanna Ryu, after a match on the edge of a knife, cut only at the end of the decisive set. It was 3-2 for the Romanian-Austrian pair: 11-5, 8-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9.
Chinese on the way to gold
In the end, Bernadette Szocs and Sofia Polcanova will face the Chinese pair Manyu Wang/Man Kuai, who had passed by the Romanian-Spanish couple Adina Diaconu/Maria Xiao.
Romania had not obtained a medal at the World Cup in 2019, when Ovidiu Ionescu and the Spanish Alvaro Robles won the silver in the men’s doubles. For women, it is the first medal won by Romania at the individual world championships after a 32 -year break.
