The book, entitled “Love, Freddie”, claims that the child was accidentally conceived following an adventure with the wife of a close friend, in 1976.
According to The Guardian, Freddie Mercury regularly visited his daughter and offered 17 volumes of detailed personal journals, which she kept secret.
The woman, known only under the initial B-who is 48 years old and works as a professional in the medical field in Europe-has shared the contents of journals with Rock Lesley-Ann Jones for this book.
In the volume, about which the Daily Mail reports, a handwritten letter appears by Mercury’s daughter, who wants to keep her anonymity, in which she says: “Freddie Mercury was and is my father.”
“I had a very close and loveful relationship from the moment I was born and over the last 15 years of his life. He worshiped me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, according to the standards of the majority of people, unusual and even scandalous. But that should not surprise me. says the woman.
According to the quoted publication, its existence was known only by Mercury’s close circle.
The singer began to write in June 20, 1976, when he first learned about pregnancy, two days after Queen had launched the single You Best Friend, from the Album of the 1975 Opera.
He told his childhood in Zanzibar, where Farrokh Bulsara was born on September 5, 1946, as well as the time spent at a British internation in India.
The journals also detail as the family was forced to flee Zanzibar during the 1964 Revolution, then settling in Middlesex, in northwestern London.
The last note in his notebook dates from July 31, 1991, when his health was worsening. The singer died at the age of 45 due to a bronchial pneumonia caused by AIDS.
Lesley-Ann Jones said she was first contacted by B three years ago. She said for the Daily Mail: “My instinct was to doubt everything, but I am absolutely convinced that they do not. No one could have forged all these things. Why would he have collaborated with me for three and a half years without asking anything in return?”.
