During a press conference held on Friday, July 4, the PNL deputy of Satu Mare, Adrian Cozma, and the Liberal County Councilor Alexandru Horvat reported that, despite a profound financial crisis, at the Satu Mare County Hospital, monthly premiums are granted in a total value of 1.3 million lei for the administrative staff, lei, that is about 18 million euros, writes the villagers.

“We asked for a regulation to know who benefits from these premiums, but the hospital did not send us. However, at the meeting of the County Council of May 2025, we approved the draft decision on granting the premiums, believing that they will be intended for medical staff,” said the county councilor Alexandru Horvat, specifying that since December 2024 he was requested with the management of the hospital for clarifications regarding the situation of the hospital debts, but has not received any answer so far.

“The award of the counter -performance”

Subsequently, after the Liberals filed a trial to the hospital, they were in possession of the list with the first granted for April 2025, with the mention that these amounts will be paid monthly until the end of this year.

The president of the Satu Mare County Council, Pataki Csaba, justified the first for the administrative staff by the desire to avoid the feeling of discrimination against the doctors and nurses who have benefited in the last year of substantial salary increases.

The list of premiums reveals flagrant differences between the amounts granted: the auxiliary personnel receive relatively small amounts, while the members of the hospital management receive a monthly and 8,100 lei, in addition to the already considerable salaries.

“Currently, we are witnessing an inexplicable phenomenon in administration: the award of the counter-performance. Mr. Pataki has thought to offer prizes to the hospital management for the opposition. said the deputy Adrian Cozma, who announced that he would submit an interpellation to the new Minister of Health to investigate this delicate financial situation.

For his part, Alexandru Horvat says that an official complaint has been submitted to the Satu Mare Chamber of Accounts regarding the allocation of the funds for April.

“We hope that the state institutions do their duty and no longer tolerate such abuses, illegalities and discretionary uses of public funds”, he said, pointing out that hospitals in neighboring counties do not register similar debts, but, on the contrary, they work on profit and that many residents in Satu Mare choose to be treated rather, due to the much better conditions.
