In February 2019, Potughezul José Mourinho received a suspended prison sentence and agreed to pay fines of 2.2 million euros (1.9 million pounds), after recognizing tax fraud as a manager at Real Madrid.

The Colombian singer Shakira has also been the subject of long fiscal procedures in Spain.
