George Simion, the candidate and chief of gold in the presidential elections, claimed that Victor Ponta, an independent candidate in the presidential race would have benefited from a paid 7 million euros to create the impression that he has the support of the Trump administration. The former prime minister and head of the PSD denied the accusation, stating that he is an independent candidate and has not used any money so far because he had no place.

George Simion said Victor Ponta’s supporters would have paid 7 million euros for American Lobby, claiming that more transparency on candidates’ financing sources are needed.
“There are 7 million euros from the sources I have in some lower circles at the level of the American administration and lobby by the supporters of Mr. Ponta. This is why it is important to know all the sources of financing, including those who come through third countries, whether it is Mr. Vucic, to whom, to Mr. Erdogan. However, his counter -candidate in the presidential race denies that he would have benefited from such a support. Victor Ponta reacted stated that “George Simion continues to behave like a political sausage, as a hooligan in the politics gallery! Today is April 1 and says an obvious lie – but when he lied to Romanians with houses of 35,000 euros, it was not April 1.”
“Romania needs a serious, mature and international economic experience! I am an independent candidate – I did not use any money so far, because I had no where!”, Victor Ponta also told Facebook.
