Art Safari announces an event with free access, on Saturday, April 5: the launch of three new art albums dedicated to Queen Maria, the artist Ion Theodorescu and the new generations of artists, Young 3.0

Art Safari continues to promote the Romanian heritage art and contemporary art by publishing three new albums dedicated to some of the most appreciated exhibitions so far: “Maria of Romania and artist”, “Ion Theodorescu.

A life of story “and” Young Blood 3.0. The new wave of contemporary artists “. The launch event will take place on Saturday, April 5, at 12:30, at Art Safari, Dacia-Romania Palace (future headquarters of Pinacotecii Bucureşti), str. Lipscani, no. 18-20.

The speakers present at the event are: Dr. Narcis Dorin Ion, manager of Peleș National Museum, Dr. Elena Olariu, Deputy Director of the Art Section, Bucharest Municipal Museum, and Căina Coman, curator Art Safari. The public’s access to this event is free.

“Maria of Romania. Queen and artist”

The album offers an incursion into the life and art of Maria of Romania, the queen who remained in history not only by the heroic deeds during the great war, but also by the artistic side of her being. His work enriches the national heritage. Passionate the whole life of gardens and nature, he painted exclusively flowers-lilies, poppies, irides, water lilies-in a specific way to Art Nouveau. Queen Maria was also attracted to the design of furniture, and many of the pieces she conceived decorated the interiors of the Pelișor Castle.

“Ion Theodorescu. A life of story”

Ion Theodorescu (1882-1939), one of the great masters of Romanian art, is part of the renewal generation from the beginning of the last century, who proposed new themes and innovative techniques, related to the Romanian reality. Sion was a convinced and hero-military unionist of the First World War.

He studied in Romania and Paris and experienced in all the artistic styles of his time (impressionism, pointilism, fovism, cubism, symbolism). He painted monumental neo-Romanian compositions, grandparents portrayed, women depicted as forest gods and static nature rich in details.

The exhibition was made in partnership with the Museum of Bucharest and brought together works from the collections of the great national museums, but also from private collections.

“Young Blood 3.0. The new wave of contemporary artists

From painting to augmented reality, from dress creation to ceramics, glass, sculpture, photography, textile or jewelry, the creations of artists born after 1980 treat the most surprising topics, topics of interest and tendencies that mourn today’s art. Social roles, intimacy, memory, absurd, transgenerational trauma, environment as sacred space, human condition, utopian worlds and dystopian narratives, digital environment and confluence of art -technology, as well as the aesthetic object in contemporaneity – are evoked by various techniques and materials.
