Over 50 students of the 12th grade have registered in the program of the municipality of free preparation of young people for “maturity exam”. Students will benefit from meditations in mathematics, computer science, Romanian, history, geography and other disciplines for the baccalaureate. So far, over 10 teachers have enrolled in the program.
“The registrations for the mentoring program for the preparation of the students for the baccalaureate were concluded. It is an initiative of the City Hall whereby, at the Youth Center, 56 young people who have registered so far will benefit, from April 7, by meditations in Romanian, mathematics, history and the other disciplines for the baccalaureate, offered by teachers, volunteers. Those who cannot afford other forms of training can have this participation in a pioneering program in Romania for the baccalaureate”, Stated Emil Boc, the mayor of Cluj-Napoca, according to the Cluj Monitor.
The mayor also announced that he intends to enroll as a voluntary history teacher within the mentoring program.
“I congratulate my colleagues at the Urban Culture Center, the profile associations that have been involved, on the volunteer teachers, over 10 until the moment. If the time allows me, I will also register to support some history lessons, where there I am also good to prepare for the baccalaureate … I recommend to all the teachers who have the availability and training you need to get involved, if they can help and help“, Added Emil Boc.
Through the program launched, Cluj-Napoca City Hall wants to support students who cannot afford other forms of training, offering them access to quality education, through a national pioneer project.
The program “Mentor for Baccalaureate” is supported by the City Hall of Cluj-Napoca through the youth programs and volunteers of the Beard Brothers Association. Mentors are volunteers and offer free training for the following disciplines: mathematics (M1 and M2), Romanian language and literature, history, geography, physical, logic, psychology and sociology. Interested students were able to enroll in the program until March 31.
The training sessions will be supported by volunteer mentors, professionals and experienced students in the respective fields to support the students in their preparation for the baccalaureate exam.
