Romania’s Deputy Prime Minister, Cătălin Predoiu, was awarded the International Public Service Award at the 2025 Alliance Gala, held on Friday at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, DC. The distinction honors his contribution to good governance, justice reform and strengthening the strategic relationship between Romania and the United States of America.
The award recognizes a career of over three decades in the public service, in which Cătălin Predoiu distinguished himself by promoting the rule of law and the independence of justice.
In his mandate as Minister of Justice, he coordinated the modernization of the Romanian judicial system, aligning it with European standards by increasing transparency, strengthening anti-corruption mechanisms and introducing digital solutions aimed at improving access to justice.
The Alliance is a national non-profit organization from the United States, dedicated to strengthening the cultural, economic and security ties between Romania and the USA.
