Chef Sorin Bontea decided he wanted to lose weight and chose a popular method to help him shed the extra pounds.
More precisely, the MasterChef jury went on a fast. He told Click!: “At the moment I’m fasting. I eat when I can. I don’t even drink much anymore, like that. I’m trying to lose weight, because Easter is coming. And to eat a bit of lamb, a bit of salad. That’s how I like it: a bit of steak, a bit of soup, a bit of pork, a bit of cheese, a bit of green onion, radishes. And so on! A lot of food and it’s hard to lose weight. So, we lose the kilos before Easter, and after Easter we put them back, that’s it.”
Asked if he is fasting because Easter is coming, or because he wants to look a certain way, he said: “I’m getting ready for the new season of MasterChef. I want to get rid of my belly because I watched the last season and I wasn’t likeable at all. I mean, I look at myself, like this, and the belly goes in first and then me.”
According to him, filming for the new season of MasterChef will start at the end of April – we start filming at the beginning of May.
Chef Sorin Bontea also talked about how he prepares for the Easter holidays.
“I paint the eggs, I don’t know how and why, it got to me. I don’t know how my wife got rid of them (…) It’s like in that bank with… That one goes: “Good day, good day! Do you have the egg dye?”. “Flirtatious!” So! So, I dye the eggs. Only tomatoes! My wife makes the steak. I make the soup and the broth”said chef Bontea.
He added: “The children eat steak, muffins. I also make muffins for Easter. Twice a year I make muffins, at Easter and Christmas. They usually eat steak”
