The artist Cătălin Ștefan Ion, known by the stage name Cheloo, was involved on Friday, June 19, in an incident at the Câmpina Municipal Hospital, where he allegedly tried to run away from the supervision of an ambulance crew. He would have been caught and handcuffed by the police.
“On June 19, 2026, the police officers of the Câmpina Municipality Police were alerted, through the National Single Emergency Call System 112, by the staff of a medical unit in the municipality, regarding the fact that a patient was exhibiting agitated behavior.
The police immediately went to the scene, where they found that the person in question tried to leave the medical unit without the consent of the specialized staff and before the completion of the necessary medical procedures.
In order to prevent injuries and to ensure the safety of the person and those around him, the police intervened according to their legal powers, immobilizing him and facilitating the provision of the necessary medical care“, inform the officials of the Prahova County Police.
According to News.ro, which cites judicial sources, Cheloo was brought to the Voila Psychiatric Hospital in a deteriorated state of health, possibly under the influence of psychoactive substances.
He was admitted to Voila, a hospital located in the Câmpina area, and on Friday the medical staff noticed a superficial injury in the patient’s neck, which is why an ambulance crew was requested to take him to the Câmpina Municipal Hospital, to treat the injury.
The quoted source writes that Cheloo would have tried to run away after noticing the police crew accompanying the ambulance.
He would have been caught, immobilized and handcuffed by the police, then he would have been medically evaluated and transported back to Voila Hospital. The Prahova police specified that, following the checks, no criminal or contraventional facts were found.
