The prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate – Galati Territorial Service have ordered the initiation of the criminal action and the taking of the measure of judicial control for a duration of 60 days, starting from August 6, against the defendant Marius Badea, police officer, with the professional rank of chief commissioner , within the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) – Economic Crime Investigation Directorate, for instigation to falsify statements, instigation to complicity in falsification of statements and instigation to abuse of office, if the civil servant obtained for himself or for another an undue benefit, news.ro.

“On 06.07.2024, at around 18.00, the defendant Badea Marius, while he was traveling within the radius of the municipality of Adjud at the wheel of his personal car, was reportedly stopped in traffic by a traffic police crew, who was surprised with the radar device, driving at a speed of 108 km/h on a road sector where the maximum speed limit was 50 km/h. In this context, the defendant Badea Marius, taking advantage of the position he holds within the IGPR, would have convinced the investigating agents not to apply the contravention sanction provided by the law and not to suspend his right to drive according to the legal provisions”DNA sent in a press release on Friday.
