We start with a theme that has been in the foreground of public life in recent days: specific cases of sexual harassment in the university environment. We definitely cannot accept such situations and there will be no tolerance for such acts, regardless of the name of the aggressor! And if it were a single case, to save a victim it is essential to take the necessary measures”, declared Marcel Ciolacu, at the beginning of the Government meeting.

The Prime Minister asked the Minister of Education to come up with proposals to complete and amend the legislation in this regard.

“I ask the Minister of Education, Mrs. Ligia Deca, to come next week with proposals to complete and amend the legislation, in dialogue with the National Council of Rectors“, said the head of the Executive.

The Prime Minister stated that society expects the victims to be protected “in a real way”, and the aggressors brought to justice.

I think that our society expects a simple and clear fact: for the law to really protect the victims, and for the aggressors to be quickly brought to justice. In the same way, the minister will tell us what steps are necessary to reach this resultt”, added the prime minister.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu reacted, on Wednesday, regarding the case of Professor Alfred Bulai, who is at the center of a sexual scandal, in press statements in which the name of sociologist Marius Pieleanu, known as close to the PSD, who is also bring more charges.

What does a close friend of the PSD mean? I don’t understand the remark. He is not an enemy of the PSD. You wouldn’t want to though, before you judge anyone, and I don’t think it’s my place to judge anyone, let’s get the whole truth. If something like this happened, you will see that the measures required by the law will be taken”, said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

The Head of the Executive defended the Minister of Education stating that he is firmly convinced that “launched the investigations together with the SNSPA leadership“, after USR had criticized the lack of reaction of the Minister of Education in this case.

On Monday, the Capital Police started investigations against the university professor Alfred Bulai, he being investigated for committing the crime of using his position for sexual purposes. And the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 1st District Court urged the SNSPA students, who were allegedly victims of the teacher, to contact the prosecutors, while the investigators promised them that they would ensure their protection and protect their identity.

Ana Birchall, candidate for the presidency of Romania and former Minister of Justice, showed in a post on her Facebook page that in 2008 she was allegedly harassed by the sociologist Marius Pieleanu, also a professor at SNSPA. At the same time, as reported by Adevărul, a former student from SNSPA confessed, in a comment left on Facebook to a post by teacher Mihaela Miroiu, that Marius Pieleanu made advances to her, and the teaching staff knew, but did nothing.

We remind you that the teacher is accused of asking some female students to undress in front of him, according to the investigative website Snoop, which spoke to victims of the teacher’s abuse.
