Artificial intelligence can fundamentally change the way public administration works, claims the general mayor of the Capital and the first vice-president of the PNL, Ciprian Ciucu. He says that he has already started using such tools for data analysis and the development of concrete projects for the Capital City Hall.
Ciucu explained that he tries to stay connected to technological developments and warns that the lack of adaptation can quickly lead to a professional gap.
“I try to keep up with technology, after an age, if you’re not careful, you fall behind without realizing it. Since I’m only in management positions and no longer working directly on documents, collecting and analyzing data, writing reports, etc. I was afraid that it would get out of hand. Now I’m the beneficiary of documents and I’m bombarded with disparate and scattered information.” wrote Ciucu in a post on Facebook.
Dropped ChatGPT and switched to Claude
The mayor said he has deactivated his ChatGPT subscription and has chosen to use the Claude platform, which he says has given him very good results in analyzing administrative documents.
“The AI is a game changer. It’s fabulous. I’ve been playing with two projects. One in chat and one in artifacts.” he said.
According to Ciprian Ciucu, one of the first tests concerned the analysis of a complex Excel file, which contained the situation of thousands of properties managed by the Real Estate Fund Administration.
The mayor claims that, after processing the information with the help of artificial intelligence, he was able to understand more clearly the policies and decisions made in this field in the last two decades.
“I understood the policies and decisions made in this area for the last 20 years, which no civil servant has been able to explain to me so far,” said the mayor.
Mockup for the new website of the Capital City Hall
A second project carried out with the help of artificial intelligence was the creation of a concept for the future website of the Bucharest City Hall.
Ciprian Ciucu explained that he requested the development of a mockup inspired by the structure and design of the website of the Sector 6 City Hall.
The result impressed him, the mayor describing it as fair “fabulous!”.
Analysis of administrative strategies
The mayor announced that he plans to use artificial intelligence to synthesize voluminous administrative strategies that, he says, few read in full.
The goal is to carry out an exercise of coherence and strategic planning at the level of the Capital’s administration.
“Tomorrow, if he’s still free, I’ll have him synthesize for me from the dozens of bushy strategies that no one reads, and we’ll do a small strategy coherence and strategic planning exercise together,” Ciucu sent.
In his message, the mayor emphasized that modernizing the administration begins with the openness of leaders to continuous learning and adaptation.
“I said it a few years ago… A mayor is obliged to learn permanently. And to deeply understand what he has to lead.” concluded Ciprian Ciucu.
