CS Rapid Bucharest defeated the Polish team MKS Zaglebie Lubin away, with a score of 24-21 (13-15), on Saturday evening, in its penultimate match in Group B of the Women's Handball Champions League.

Romania's vice-champion maintains chances of qualification in the play-off with this success.
Rapid was dominated in the first half by Zaglebie, who also scored four goals (9-5, 10-6), and at halftime had a 15-13 lead. The team coached by David Ginesta Montes controlled the last quarter of an hour of the meeting and won 24-21. The fact that the Poles received 7 eliminations and a red card also mattered.
For Rapid, Dorina Korsos scored 6 goals, Andjela Janjusevic 5, Mathilde Neesgaard Mogensen 3, Laura Kanor 3, Orlane Kanor 3, Estavana Polman 2, Albertina Da Cruz Kassoma 1, Alexandra Badea 1.

The hosts' goals were scored by Daria Michalak 6, Daria Przywara 4, Adrianna Gorna 4, Karolina Kochaniak-Sala 4, Joanna Drabik 1, Patricia Machado Matielli 1, Karolina Jurenczyk 1.
Monika Maliczkiewicz finished with 8 interventions (33.33%), and Barbara Zima had one.
The match was refereed by the Danes Line Hesseldal Hansen and Josefine Kusk Jensen, and the EHF delegate was the Slovakian Jan Rudinsky.
In another match, champion Vipers Kristiansand beat runner-up FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria 35-27 away.
On Saturday the match Team Esbjerg – Krim Mercator Ljubljana takes place, and on Sunday the match Ikast Handbold – Metz Handball will be played.
Rapid will play in the last stage against Team Esbjerg, at home, on February 18, being obliged to win in order to hope for a place in the play-offs.
