“If the party, and I am convinced that this will happen, agrees, I will most likely run for election”said Daniel Băluţă, on Wednesday evening, on Antena 3, when asked if he will run for the partial local elections for the Capital City Hall, News writes.

He said there is “a gentlemen’s agreement” regarding the fact that no candidate from the parties in the coalition will withdraw. “Not all things in this life are done, as you know, in writing. Confucius said that a promise made is pure duty. I’m the kind of person who really keeps promises,” Baluta pointed.

He argued that the scores from the opinion polls are not relevant. “It is important for me, as a resident of Bucharest, that we can replicate as many of the projects that we have done in Sector 4 as possible at the level of the Capital City Hall. Maybe it’s an important moment for all of us, for the people of Bucharest, to look very carefully at the results, at the performance, because with such fights, with such contradictory discussions, this city cannot progress”. added Daniel Baluta.

Asked who will decide the PSD candidate in the situation where Gabriela Firea also wants to be the party’s candidate in these partial elections, Daniel Băluţă answered: “Reality”. “Ms. Firea is a very good colleague. A member of the European Parliament who represents Romania with honor, he was a good general mayor, with whom, personally, I collaborated very well. This is another electoral competition, with certainty the surveys that the party ordered and which are underway will establish which of these proposals is better, because that is normal, life is a competition. It’s a competition full of respect and common sense, that’s what it’s all about”mentioned Daniel Băluţă.
