Among the 107 tricolor athletes was one of the most prolific and publicized Romanians, David Popovici. He enters the competition next Sunday and is doing his best to be 100% fit at the start of the 100m and 200m freestyle races. He was the only one who wore a mouth mask, so as not to have any unpleasant surprises even before the competition. At the official presentation at Henry Coandă Airport, he still took off his mask.
Elisabeta Lipă, excited
Elisabeta Lipă was the leader of Team Romania, which boarded the aircraft named Nadia Comăneci, operated by TAROM. The president of the National Sports Agency confessed that she has the same emotions as the athletes, even though she has participated in so many editions of the Olympics. “They say that if you participate more than once in the Olympic Games, the emotions are lower. I have emotions just like you. These emotions are normal, we leave with joy and hope and the love of those at home, who are not few and who are by your side. I wish, and I wish you, that Romania’s national anthem resounds in all the Olympic arenas.
You have worked for three years, now is the time to fly. You are good, very good, you trust yourself and you want more than is humanly possible. Your moment is now. I want you to taste the feeling of victory. Representing your country with honor and honor is an extraordinary and impressive moment when your country’s anthem is played and millions of people listen to it. May God give you the inspiration you need. Go Romania!”, said Elisabeta Lipă.
Mihai Covaliu wants the Romanians to show that they are the best
The head of ANS was appointed by Mihai Covaliu, president of COSR:
“We expect to be happy for the beautiful results you will achieve in Paris. I know how long and tense the wait has been, but I also know that you are ready. We trust in you that you will succeed in proving that you are the best”.
Most of the tricolors will live in the Olympic Village during the competition. Today COSR published images of the block where our delegation will occupy several floors.
