David Popovici, the easiest title won in his career. The athlete competes at Nationals for CS Dinamo

Olympic champion David Popovici won the 50-meter freestyle event on Wednesday, on the first day of the National Swimming Championships hosted by the Swimming Sports Complex in Otopeni.

Popovici (CS Dinamo Bucharest) was timed with a time of 22 sec 02/100, followed by Patrick Sebastian Dinu (CSM Constanța), 22 sec 33/100, and Mihai Gergely (CS Universitatea Cluj), 22 sec 69/100.

CS Dinamo won two titles on the first day, the other being brought by Denis Laurean Popescu (100 m backstroke).

Two more titles were won by CSA Steaua, through Diana Gabriela Stiger (800 m free) and Robert Andrei Badea (200 m mixed), and CSM Pitesti, through Theodora Maria Dumitru (50 m free) and Andrei Theodor Proca (800 m free).
