Romanian MEP Diana Iovanovici-Şoșoacă participated on Friday, October 17, in the Russia Today (RT) anniversary gala, held at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The event marked 20 years of the Russian channel’s existence, and President Vladimir Putin was also present on stage.

Diana Șoșoacă was presented as a “special guest” of RT and the only member of the European parliament participating, and she sent images and video clips from the event on her Facebook account.

“The Tsar thanked him for his presence at the Russia Today Gala.

Av. MEP Diana Iovanovici – Şoșoacă, the leader of the SOS Romania Party, the only MEP participating, was the special guest of the Russia Today (RT) television station, at the Gala organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its existence”according to a statement posted on her Facebook account, in which she claims that she represented “the voice of the Romanian people, free and dignified”, denouncing censorship and restrictions on expression in the European Union.

On this occasion, the leader of SOS Romania launched harsh criticism of the European Union.

“We live in a dictatorship of lies and manipulation. The European Union has turned into a global mafia that imposes single-mindedness, destroys faith, censors the free press and persecutes anyone who dares to speak the truth,” said Diana Sosoacă during the interview.

Moreover, she also attacked the EU leadership, accusing it of losing touch with reality:
Von der Leyen and her cabal live in a bubble, cut off from reality, while the peoples of Europe suffer. They no longer believe in God, in family, in identity. They want to rule the world as moral dictators, but they are only actors in a theater of lies“.

“Romania and Moldova are treated like colonies. Maia Sandu gave Moldova as a gift to the globalists, and Ursula von der Leyen and Macron control the destinies of our peoples from the offices in Brussels”, she continued.

The MEP also commented on the war in Ukraine, which he sees as a tragedy fueled by the geopolitical interests of the European Union and NATO.

“People die not for freedom, but for the ambitions of those who want to reach Russia’s borders. Peace cannot be built with tanks and bombs, but with respect for truth and history,” she stated in Moscow.

The authorities of the Romanian state did not escape the unaccused either.

“After they banned my candidacy for the presidency and tried to abolish SOS Romania, now they want to put me in a hospice for telling the truth. This is not democracy – it is Nazism revived”. supported Diana Sosoacă.

The statements made by her in Moscow do nothing more than add straw to the fire, in the context in which she is already accused in a file aimed at four crimes of illegal deprivation of liberty, but also the promotion of the cult of people convicted of war crimes, fascist, legionary, racist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic ideas.

In this context, his participation in the Russia Today gala, a channel sanctioned in the EU, was perceived as a symbolic gesture against official European positions.

Vladimir Putin’s speech

During the event, President Vladimir Putin gave a speech to the guests, and Diana Sosoacă was surprised in public, along with other international personalities, including Elon Musk’s father, as well as controversial figures, such as the Irish journalist Chay Bowes, known for his favorable views of the Kremlin.

“Even foreigners who work for us, citizens of other states, and there are many, defending their own convictions, help our country to promote them in their countries. (…) I wish you to continue to develop, to find new formats and themes in the acute struggle for people’s minds and hearts. And to win this struggle, you must continue to use your strategic weapon, high precision and intercontinental range, the truth. The voice of truth, the voice Russia, it has to sound loud, sure and convincing”, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his speech.
