Disneyland Paris is a complex located in the town of Marne-la-Vallée, about 32 kilometers from the center of Paris.

It includes two theme parks, seven Disney-owned hotels, two convention centers, a golf course, an arena, and a shopping, dining and entertainment complex. Opened on April 12, 1992, the resort is operated by Disney Experiences, a division of The Walt Disney Company.

Diana Pârvu and her family arrived at the famous Disneyland Paris park with huge expectations, but reality hit them hard.

I have not seen so many people on the street until New Year’s Eve!” she says. The queues are beyond imagination, and the popular areas quickly become suffocated. The space dedicated to Elsa, one of the most sought after by children, is “much too small for how many people come there”. The moment that completely changed the experience?

After a long wait at the famous Frozen Ever After attraction, the boat broke down and dozens of people were left inside waiting.

Entire families, tired children, parents without answers. All that could be heard through the station every 5 minutes was that they were working to fix the fault as soon as possible. Some sat directly on the floor with their little ones in their arms, waiting for the problem to be solved.

We were not told anything clearly. I didn’t know how long it was. At one point I gave in and went out the emergency door”, says Diana Pârvu who went to Disneyland Paris with a specific goal: to give her daughter, Jacqueline, the most beautiful birthday present for her 5th birthday.

But the shocks do not stop at the organization. The prices in the park are huge. The food is described by Diana as “just enough not to starve“, and the souvenirs reach levels that are hard to justify. A princess dress is between 70 and 250 euros.
