Dorian Popa will play a leading role – mentor Flex Barbarul – alongside Cătălin Bordea in the production that promises to be the comedy of 2025 in Romania.
The famous influencer, actor and singer, Dorian Popa, will be part of the cast of the comedy MENTORII, the first film created by UNTOLD Universe. Dorian Popa thus joins the comedian Cătălin Bordea, the two being the first actors announced from the sensational cast of this film. Dorian Popa will step into the shoes of the mentor Flex the Barbarian and promises to give life to an original and sometimes self-ironic character, as he has never been seen before. The comedy MENTORII will reach cinemas across the country at the beginning of 2025.
Flex the Barbarian, the character played by Dorian Popa, is one of the three mentors who will help Johnny Baltă, played by Cătălin Bordea, to transform his life and prove to his father that he is worthy of becoming the heir to the financial empire. Flex the Barbarian will try to convince his student that success in life is guaranteed by an impressive physique, which can only be achieved through barbaric fitness training, semi-raw meat diet and many other tricks and shortcuts to achieve amazing results in record time.
“A year or so ago I read the draft of the script for the first time and thought it was extremely good. I met again with the director Adrian Tapciuc and the guys after a year and my first impressions were reconfirmed when I read the script and I laughed from ear to ear. One of the reasons that led me to accept this role is the fact that those who are in charge of making this film also make one of the most beautiful events in Romania, namely the UNTOLD festival, which brought so much value to Romanians and Romania. Secondly, I was convinced by the script and thirdly by the fact that the character I will play is a parody of guys who practice fitness. I have learned from the mentors in my life that self-deprecation is one of the rarest qualities. I can’t wait to see if I can parody myself, if I can “take it easy” to such an extent that people laugh at my composition, because it’s a composition role. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear will realize that the character I play is inspired by an international public figure who has created quite a stir in the online space in recent years and I really hope to overcome my barriers and zone of comfort and to do this role of composition as per the book.“, declared Dorian Popa.
The creators of the feature film promise that the film will keep us speechless, from the beginning to the end, both thanks to the script and the chemistry between the actors.

Synopsis:
“MENTORS” tells the story of Johnny Baltă, played by Cătălin Bordea, a man much too immature for his age, who happens to be the future heir to the largest financial empire in the country: the fortune of his father, Dorin Baltă. Dissatisfied with his son’s superficiality, Dorin decides to kick him out of the house after he gets into another car accident. Furthermore, he requires Johnny to prove within six months that he can become a responsible adult capable of running the financial empire, or he will be disinherited.
Helped by his sister Magda, Johnny thinks he has found a quick and easy solution to the problem: he will be mentored by three of the most famous personal development influencers in the country. They are Flex the Barbarian – the fitness and healthy living mentor, Sandra Senziorial – the wellbeing mentor and Robby the Anonymous – the business and finance mentor.
The reward of one million euros up for grabs in the film is more than tempting for the three influencers. Each will vie to be Johnny’s primary mentor, sharing his theories or, more often than not, trying to debunk those of the contestants.
From these conflicts will be born the most comical and unexpected moments of the film. The finale will show if Johnny really becomes a changed man, either because of the advice he receives from the influencers, or because of his own lessons he learns during the six months.
The idea of the film as well as the script belong to Magic Maker Media House, the production house that is part of the UNTOLD Universe group. Also, the biggest stand-up comedy label in Romania, Headline Management Agency joined this project as an associate producer, which is an additional guarantee for the success of this comedy.
The MENTORS movie is now in pre-production and filming will begin on August 15th. The film will also have scenes that will be shot at the UNTOLD festival. The release of the film in Romanian cinemas will take place in the first part of 2025.
