Cambei showed consistency in all major competitions: at the European Championships in Chisinau, in her usual 49 kg category, she won gold in the snatch (85 kg), throw (105 kg) and all-around (190 kg), repeating the performances of the previous editions in Yerevan 2023 and Sofia 2024.

At this contest I really felt the pressure, because people have expectations. I have to be in the socket regardless of the competition“, said the athlete upon returning from Moldova.

World Championships from Forde

The peak of the year was at the Forde World Championships. In the 53 kg category, Mihaela won the gold in the snatch with 94 kg, a European record, and took the silver in the throw (114 kg) and in the total (208 kg), setting other European records.

I wanted to win gold in the snatch, then fight like a warrior for a place on the podium overall“, said Mihaela Cambei.

Weighing 50.91 kg, Mihaela was the lightest among the competitors in the 53 kg category. The year 2025 thus remains a golden one for Mihaela Cambei, who confirms her status as a star of Romanian and world weightlifting.
