The Court of Appeal has issued the final decision in the case of the dentist accused of depriving of liberty and sexually assaulting a patient, the influencer Ștefania Costache, known in the online environment as Lolrelai. The court reduced the sentence from 10 years in prison, established in the first instance, to three years in prison with suspension of execution.

Ștefania Costache (Lolrelai) reacted after the pronouncement of the final decision, saying that although the court found the dentist guilty, she believes that she lost the case.
“Today, after six years and seven months, my trial officially ended. In theory, I won, because he was found guilty. In practice, I consider myself to have lost, because the sentence is three years suspended. Literally, he won’t even serve a day in jail.”the influencer sent.
She stated that the court upheld the compensation of 50,000 euros and the ban on the doctor approaching her for five years, but says that she would have considered the case won only if the aggressor had served a prison sentence.

“Definitive sentencing decision in the case of the dentist accused of deprivation of liberty and sexual assault in relation to his own patient, Ștefania Costache – Lolrelay. The Court of Appeal sentences the dentist to 3 years in prison, 5 years away from the commission of the acts. Although on the merits he received 10 years in prison, the Court of Appeal reduces his sentence to the minimum, with the result that the doctor will benefit from the suspension of the execution of the sentence. Moral damages remain 50,000 euros”, the lawyer said.
He claims that it is the first case in Romania in which a doctor is convicted for using prohibited substances on a patient for the purpose of committing sexual crimes.
The doctor allegedly took her to his apartment after drugging her
The file is based on the accusations made by the influencer Ștefania Costache, known as Lolrelai, a former contestant on the iUmor show.
The young woman told, in a vlog published online, that following a visit to the dental office, the doctor would have administered substances that affected her state of consciousness, after which he would have taken her to his apartment and sexually assaulted her.
Following these accusations, Ștefania Costache filed a criminal complaint for acts that occurred in 2020.
During the trial, the doctor denied the charges against him.
