From the Champions League to Taximeter. A former steel champion has completely changed his job

Gabriel Paraschiv (46 years old), a champion of Romania with Steel Galati in 2011, received the taxi license and, for about two weeks, has been professing in Moreni.

Taxis are now the “bread” of Gabi Paraschiv

The former midfielder started his career at Flacăra Moreni and played in Chindia, Poli Iași, Oil and Steel Galați, with whom he became a champion in 2011 and evolved in the Champions League groups. For a decade, Paraschiv has been a coach at Flacăra Moreni, and now, in parallel, he is doing taximetry.

Given that it is a small town, the longest races put in pocket about 15-20 lei to the former footballer, notes Liga2.ro.

Over time, Paraschiv also won 3,000 euros a month at Flacăra Moreni, a team he promoted in 2016 in the third league. Recently, however, the salary was reduced, this being a reason why he chose to have another job, according to the source mentioned above.

From the promotion to the present, the Dâmboviţa group has been struggling to stay in the third step, and the club management is preparing to give up its services. In the season 2024/2025, Flacăra ended the regular season in 8th place in Group 5 of Liga 3.
