Genoa no longer has a coach, after Dan Șucu gave up the services of Patrick Vieira. Who could take his place?

The Frenchman and the club’s management reached a mutual agreement to end the collaboration amicably. Domenico Criscito, the current technician of the Under 17 team, will take over the team temporarily in Vieira’s place. He will lead today’s training and will be on the technical bench for the match with Sassuolo, scheduled for Monday, according to the club’s official announcement.

Criscito will leave tomorrow with the players for Reggio Emilia, where the match will be played. The press conference that Vieira had arranged before the game was cancelled.

The next match of the “Griffons” will take place on Friday, November 3, from 19:30, away, against Sassuolo.

More options on Dan Șucu’s list

The press in Italy has already started speculating on possible replacements for Patrick Vieira. Among the coaches considered are Daniele De Rossi, Paolo Vanoli and Luca Gotti.

The situation of the team is a difficult one: Genoa has not managed a single victory in the first nine stages of the season, having only three draws and six defeats, which places them in last place in the standings.

The Romanian businessman broke his promise

Before Monday’s match, Dan Șucu claimed that he has no plans to dismiss Patrick Vieira.

I have great faith in the team and the coach, as well as the technical staff. We have only one plan: the current staff. If we have to make reinforcements in the winter, we will transfer players. We have a strong coach and we have a squad that allows us to be competitive. Yesterday was a bad day. I’ve already said it: we don’t have a plan A, B or C. The only plan is with the coach and the staff we have now!said Şucu, a few days ago.
