The president of the AUR, George Simion, accuses that the decisions of the European leaders in the last decades have led to dangerous strategic dependencies on the big global actors and stressed that the inability of the EU bloc to secure its borders will cost Europe its status as a world power.
Simion, said on Saturday, during the European Economic Forum in Cluj, that a continent that no longer produces and cannot protect its strategic interests risks losing its relevance at the global level.
“A continent that cannot defend its borders, economy and identity will not remain a global power”, he emphasized.
“Romanians and other nations in the European Union were told to give up certain values, and this was called progress. We are told that our model is outdated and now Europe depends on manufacturing from China, others for defense and unstable regions for essential energy resources“, said George Simion, vice-president of The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Party, according to the same statement.
Simion pleaded for the reduction of taxes, the stimulation of entrepreneurship and the relaunch of large economic and industrial projects.
“Europe must once again become a continent that builds. We need to invest in infrastructure, energy, industrial capacity and technological innovation. They represent the foundation of our civilization“, declared the AUR leader.
