The GOPO awards represent an annual prestigious event, which rewards the most important national film achievements during the previous year and the true values in the field are promoted among a wider audience. The 19th edition of the Gopo Awards Gala will take place on April 29, at the “IL Caragiale” National Theater in Bucharest.

Of the 42 films proposed for the category the best feature film, in the race for the Gopo trophy remain “Alice On & Off” (R. Isabela Tent), “New Year that was” (Bogdan Mureșanu), “Moromeți 3” (r. Stere Gulea), “Nasty” (r. Tudor Giurgiu, Cristian Pascariu, Tudor D. “Mare Week” (r. Andrei Cohn) and “three kilometers to the end of the world” (r. Emanuel Pârvu). Thus, two of the films nominated in the most coveted category are documentary.
The nominations for the best actress category in a main role are Nicoleta Hâncu for the role of “New Year who was”, Olga Török for the role of “Clara”, Rodica Lazăr for the role of “Ext. Machine”, Olimpia Melinte for the role of “Moromeți 3” and Nicoleta Lefter for the role of “Mare Week.
The best actor in a leading role will be decided between Adrian Văncică for the role of the “New Year who was”, Yann Verburgh for the role of “Captura”, Emanuel Pârvu for the role of “Familiar” (r. Călin Peter Netzer), Alex Călin for the role of “Moromites 3” and Doru Bem for the role of “Mare”.
In the best director, Isabela Tent is nominated for the documentary “Alice On & Off”, Bogdan Mureșanu for “New Year who was”, Stere Gulea for the end of the “Morometii” trilogy, Andrei Cohn for the movie “Mare” and Emanuel Pârvu for “Three kilometers until the end of the world”.
