A well -known Romanian entrepreneur told the negative experience with the health system in Romania. The businessman complains about the dysfunctions in the system and the way people are treated, even if they pay taxes and taxes, as is his case. And the situation is all the more revolting as the discussion is a child.

Sandu Băbașan, a well -known businessman, told Facebook the bad experience with the Romanian health system. Its post became viral shortly and attracted over 21,000 reactions, over 15,000 distributions and over 3,200 comments, in which 99% of those who expressed their opinion.
But what is it about? At the recommendation of the family doctor, the entrepreneur wanted to do his little girl’s program for analysis, but it was not possible. The reason? The lack of public funds invoked by the Health Insurance House. Or in other words, a dysfunctional health system, for which the simple citizen is obliged to contribute month by month, but without benefiting from anything.
We pay increasing fees but we do not benefit from anything
“I pay millions to the state. But when it comes to my child’s health, Romania tells me: «We have no funds.» I write this because I tired to hear: “That’s how it goes.” No, no “goes”. It only goes for those who have nothing to do with reality. I have it. I have two twin little girls. One of them needed usual analyzes, nothing exotic: hemolithogram, iron/ferritin, vitamin D – routine checks for children, recommended by the family doctor. I have a referral ticket. I have contributions paid correctly. And yet, I came to feel as if I were asking for health, after, annually, I pay millions of lei to the state ”he started his story.
It all started with a visit to the family doctor, who recommended a set of analysis to Sandu Băbașan. From here the entire adventure and brutal clash with a dysfunctional system, such as the Romanian health system, began.
“Day 1 – the referral ticket. In the morning, the family doctor. Consult, explanations, everything professional. It gives us a referral ticket for the recommended analyzes. I ask explicitly: “With this ticket, can we do the analyzes, when?” «It depends on the laboratories. Call, some have funds at the beginning of the month. If not, it schedules you further. » It depends is a word that, in Romania, means: it is up to you to run according to a right for which you paid ”the businessman told.
In the following days, he called several laboratories for analyzes, but on the merits with the same result. In fact, without any result.
“Days 2–3-My phone becomes call-center. I make a list of laboratories. Sun. Note, disciplined (as in the office): laboratory 1:« Hello, we have a child ticket, usual analyzes. “” We have no funds. Laboratory 2: «We have room for 3 weeks for sending. Laboratory 4: “Funds have been exhausted this morning.” And so in parallel, I send emails, I try online forms.writes Sandu Băbașan.
A deep dysfunctional system
Exasperated, he took his daughter and began what he calls “Tour of laboratories”.
“Day 4-Tour of Laboratories: The edition is walking. I go personally, with the referral ticket in your hand and with the child after me, because sometimes if you come to the reception, we see what we can do the reception A: “We are sorry, the ceiling is over.” «And for children? It’s a ticket from the doctor ». «I know. If you want, I can schedule your payment today ». Reception B: «Take a number, we go on the list and call you when it is unlocking». “When do you mean?”, “I can’t tell you. Maybe over 2-3 weeks ». Reception C: «Try at CNAS to see what other centers have funds». I mean, I have to call all over the country to check where Romania exists? Bitter smile, from empathy. Employees are not the problem. The system is ”, he adds.
Exasperated, he decided to call the house. Enough to convince himself of the fact of disorganization there.
“The institutional attempt. I call the house. I call the call center. I read procedures. I find out exceptions, priorities, lists. Practically, the same idea: there is no effective right, there is only disorganization and lack of predictability. In the meantime: the question that no parent should ask: Swallow the frustration knowing that not everyone allows themselves “shortcut”.”, Said Sandu Băbașan.
The absurdity of the situation and more. Aware that other people do not have money to pay their services to which they should have access by law, but which are only available in rare cases.
“The situation, in short: 12 telephone calls + 6 emails + 3 roads at receptions. 0 places available on the referral ticket in the next 3-5 weeks. 1 place available tomorrow, if you pay. 2 frustrated parents. Why revive me? Because it is double absurd. 1. I pay correctly and a lot (we talk about millions of lei, and I need to work. He tells me: I have no money for your right.he said.
What happens to those who have no money to go to private?
Next, Sandu Băbașan listed as it would seem natural to show the relationship between the state and the citizen, in this regard. ” 3. Patient ceiling, not only per laboratory: there is a minimum quota for chronic children/patients, regardless of proposal. he pointed out.
Predictably, he paid his daughter the analysis, but he wanted to specify that the discussion is not about his money, which does not lack, but about the fact that many other people do not allow them to do so. And it is often about children.
