“A greater administrative chaos I did not see in this country. (…) No one in that hospital could explain to me how they acted when the first case appeared. The documents showed and highlighted this lack of management. I then asked the manager to dismiss the manager and the people involved in this situation. (…) I notice today that, after two weeks, the leadership of CJ Iași has decided to restore the same people who were not in a state for 2 weeks to apply a protocol ”, said Alexandru Rogobete in an interview for “Adevărul”.

The minister was also asked about a possible political revenge in the context of tensions between PSD and PNL, in the context in which the manager is appointed by the head of the County Council, in this case being Costel Alexe. “I don’t want to speculate. I do not think it is fair to mix politics when we talk about the lives of some people. The hospital must operate according to some regulations, which exist. The fact that they did not apply them is their responsibility. Especially in such a situation the responsibility is assumed, it is not passed. (…)

The new interim manager has resigned
Radu Constantin Luca had been appointed interim manager after the dismissal of Cătălinei Ionescu, who drove the hospital in the last three months and was removed from the scandal caused by the death of seven children infected with the Bacteria Marcescens in the ATI section. According to sources quoted by Ziarul de Iași, he resigned just one week after appointment.
Children’s Hospital “Saint Mary” It is subordinated to the Iași County Council. The former interim manager, Cătălina Ionescu, was named medical director last week, but Minister Rogobete also requested her dismissal. From the position of medical director, she again takes over the duties of manager.
