Important change at the top of the group that owns Europa FM. Who is the new CEO: “We will bring a necessary refresh”

Moving the beginning of the year to the radio. The current CEO of Europa FM is retiring, and in his place comes the one who ran Digi FM radio station for the last ten years.

The position of CEO of the Europe Development International group has been occupied, since January 1, by Cătălin Ivan, who will now lead, from this position, three radio stations: Europa FM, Virgin Radio and Vibe FM.

Cătălin Ivan worked for almost 11 years in the Digi group, ten of which he managed the radio station Digi FM, as Radio Manager.

“I am honored to lead Europa FM, Virgin Radio and Vibe FM into a new phase. We are building on the professionalism of teams that have built some of the most trusted brands in media, with strategies tailored to today’s radio market and the growing digital environment. Together we will protect the identity and values that have defined these brands and bring a needed refresh through relevant and quality content for current listeners and the new listeners we are poised to attract.”said Cătălin Ivan for Pagina de Media.

Ivan will replace Zuzana Haskova, who for the last four years was CEO of the group, but who remains in the company as the president of the Board of Directors of the two companies that operate the licenses in Romania (Europe Development International and Radio XXI).

“It was a joy to lead such dedicated people from the Europa FM, Virgin Radio Romania and Vibe FM teams. Considering the large number of projects in which I am involved, I have decided to retire from the position of CEO. However, I will continue to coordinate the group’s strategy from the role of chairman of the Board of Directors. My successor has a solid background in the radio industry and I am convinced that he will contribute to development and consolidation of the three stations”, said Zuzana Haskova.

The group that owns Europa FM has Czech Media Invest as shareholders, after the Lagardere group sold the radio operations in several countries in 2018, including Romania.
