The institution recommends citizens to consult official and verified sources when accessing or distributing materials that are not based on any evidence.
“The spread, even involuntary, of the false or manipulative content, including for the purpose of criticizing or ironic, can contribute to its propagation. In this context we encourage the public to report such contents directly on social media platforms and avoid redistributing them”, Transmit more in a message on Facebook.
The Romanian authorities constantly monitor developments in the online environment and actively collaborate with internal and international partners to counteract misinformation campaigns.
