On Wednesday, May 21, the Minister of Education and Research has held a press conference in which several important topics regarding the Romanian educational system were reached, including the criteria for granting students for students.
In this context, Daniel David said that these criteria should be re -evaluated in the future, because the current system is so complicated that at some point “you do not understand what you want to do from an educational point of view”. He considers as a priority excellence and social component.
“I think all the scholarships will have to be re -analyzed. We have a
so -so -bumped system of scholarshipsthat you often no longer understand what you want to do educational with that system. I said in the report, I think the scholarships must support two things: excellence and social component ”, explained the Minister of Education, quoted by News.ro.
Another sensitive topic was the one related to the scholarships granted to students who become mothers, a measure that some consider to be able to encourage this phenomenon, the minister Daniel David stressing that in this situation the education in the communities of which these girls are, but also the one in the family, beyond the scholarship they receive.
“I do not have a specific response now for this situation, but this is the principle that I would like to use when re-analyzing the scholarships: the good to take the scholarship and those who need socially. I think the two categories should be pushed in front. And I prefer less and more relevant than irrelevant and little,” Daniel David said.

Olympic excellence scholarship I: Between 750 and 3000 lei
Olympic excellence scholarship II: 700 lei
Merit scholarship: 450 lei
Social scholarship: 300 lei
Scholarship for minor mothers: 700 lei
Technological scholarship: 300 lei
