Kelemen Hunor: “To continue this coalition, Crin Antonescu must win. We must be aware ”

“But the rule is: the one who has the most mandates to give the prime minister. Here we have to say something: to continue to exist this coalition, Must win Antonescu. If Antonescu does not win, this coalition has no way to go. We must all be aware of this ”said the UDMR leader at Digi 24.

Kelemen Hunor stressed that the new president will need a parliamentary majority.

“In vain we talk or tell stories. If this majority, with 3,000 mayors, with a parliamentary majority, five months after the parliamentary elections does not have the ability to win the presidential elections, it means that it has no support in society. And from a moral point of view it will be a huge pressure. And the new president will need a parliamentary majority “Hunor said.

“Lose Antonescu, this majority will no longer be a functional majority.”

The UDMR leader added:

Antonescu, if he wins, has this majority behind him. If Antonescu does not win, No matter who wins, he will try to form a majority. From this point of view, I will be very honest and harsh: loses Antonescu, this majority will no longer be a functional majority until autumn. This must be said, for nothing we hide behind our fingers. (…) I will work in this election campaign and electoral precapania for the elections with Crin Antonescu. For me there is no other option at this time, I don’t want to discuss any other variant. ” said the UDMR leader.

“Romania must remain on this road”

Kelemen Hunor wanted to point out that Romania should not be under the influence of Russia.

The European Union will change, the West will change, it is clear. What is happening in the world today is absolutely new, but Romania has to be on this side of history, and not under the influence of Russia. (…) And we must have arguments for the United States that a medium and long -term ally than Europe will not find. (…) Romania must remain on this road. And Antonescu will remain on this road, one hundred percent. There is no other option, we must not look for other option“, the UDMR president pointed out.
