The Chair of Physics Professor of President Klaus Iohannis from the “Samuel von Brukenthal” National College in Sibiu has become vacant, after a period of approximately 27 years in which the position was reserved, it became vacant because the President of Romania submitted a request for retirement, according to the local publication Ora de Sibiu.
According to the quoted source, the list of positions available for tenure in Sibiu County was published on Monday, April 29, 2024. Among them is one of the positions of a teacher for the discipline of Physics at the Brukenthal College in Sibiu, with teaching in German, which consists in 18 hours, representing a full course.
The spokesperson of the Sibiu County School Inspectorate, Constantin Dincă, told Ora de Sibiu that the Romanian president has submitted a request for retirement.
“Brukenthal College has put the physics chair up for bid, meaning that all that is possible is the president's chair. Klaus Iohannis has applied for retirement due to age limit. The other professors who have the chair are young”, said Constantin Dincă.
And the Presidential Administration confirmed the information.“Mr. President has initiated the steps provided by the legislation in force for submitting the retirement file for the age limit”stated the Presidential Administration.
President Klaus Iohannis is about to turn 65, having been born on June 13, 1959, which is also the retirement age for teachers, according to the law.
