Lionel Messi recently extended his contract with Inter Miami until 2028, so we’re sure to see him play until at least the age of 41. However, the captain of the American formation and the national team of Argentina is thinking about what he will do after he hangs up his boots.
“I don’t really see myself as a coach. The idea of being a sports director interests me more, but if I had to choose one of the three options, I would like to be the owner of a club the most. I would like to have my own club, develop a club, start from the bottom and give children and people a chance to grow, to build a big club”said Leo Messi, in an interview for Luzu TV.
He made his club, together with Luis Suarez
The first steps in this direction were taken by the South American star. Together with his teammate and good friend Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi founded a club, Deportivo LSM, which is registered in the fourth division of Uruguay. The team, whose initials are Luis Suarez and Messi, already has 80 employees and more than 3,000 members.
Lionel Messi had a fabulous season in MLS, helping Inter Miami to their first title with 35 goals and 24 assists in 33 games.
