Leonardo DiCaprio prevented from returning to his seat by security at the Golden Globes. He broke a strict rule

Leonardo DiCaprio found himself momentarily stranded at the 2026 Golden Globes when security guards prevented him from returning to his seat during the live broadcast.

The incident, reported by a Vanity Fair reporter, tested the ceremony’s strict rules, which prohibit participants from moving while the cameras are on, writes The Express.

The actor waited with his co-stars Chase Sui Wonders and Selena Gomez until a commercial break allowed them to continue. Golden Globes policy states that no contestant, regardless of status, may circulate among the audience during the live telecast.

Host Nikki Glaser made a joke about DiCaprio during his opening monologue at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

Glaser referenced the actor’s well-known preference for younger women.

“I mean, countless iconic performances. You’ve worked with all the great directors. You’ve won three Golden Globes and an Oscarshe said. And the most impressive thing is that you managed to achieve all this before your girlfriend turned 30.”

Cameras caught DiCaprio’s visibly uncomfortable response, showing the 51-year-old actor awkwardly giving a thumbs up in approval.

“The most in-depth interview you ever gave was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta and pasta?“, she continued.

DiCaprio attended the ceremony without his girlfriend, Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti, 27, with whom he sparked romance speculation in 2023.

Earlier in her monologue, the comedian criticized President Donald Trump’s Justice Department over the release of the Epstein files, suggesting the department should have redacted them.

I can’t believe the star power we have in this room tonight. It’s crazy,” she stated.

“So many top people – and by top people I mean people who are on a ‘list’ that has been heavily censored.”

Glaser acknowledged the nature of the joke, stating: “I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap. I tried not to, but we don’t know anything else about you, man, there’s nothing else. I mean, open up! I’ve been looking.”
