On this occasion, the organizers announced, for the first time, the launch of the “Marius Manole” Award, which aims to support and encourage the new generation of visual artists.

The competition is aimed at students and graduates of art and architecture faculties in Romania and will offer prizes in 2026 totaling 12,500 euros.

During the opening of the previous edition, Marius Manole spoke about the importance of supporting artists at the beginning of their journey.

I was young too. I know what it means to shake your hand, I know what it means to have emotions, I know what it means to have a kind word, an encouragement, to be guided by a master. For me, it’s not even important who wins this award, it’s important that we are here, that you are seen and that we see you“, said the actor.

According to the organizers, the project aims to give young artists visibility and opportunities to assert themselves in a field where access to public exposure can be difficult at the beginning of their career.

Over 300 artists signed up for the 2025 edition. For this year’s edition, the jury will select 50 finalist works. The judging panel includes Doina Lemny, Livia Florea, Petru Lucaci, Suzana Vasilescu and Mihai Zgondoiu.

Details regarding registration and the competition calendar are available on the website of the Catalyst project.
