The legendary band Metallica is in the capital of Romania for the fifth time. The members of the heavy metal band arrived in Bucharest already on Tuesday, visiting the city center before the big concert.
James Hatfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet and Robert Trujillo arrived in Romania on Tuesday with two private planes. They took advantage of their free time to visit the Old Center, according to ProTV News.
The artists didn’t stop there and even went to visit an antique shop, and then they enjoyed simple dishes, cooked according to Romanian recipes at a Vin Capitală restaurant.
Metallica is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, USA. The band was founded in 1981, managing to sell over 100 million records worldwide. The commercial success made Metallica a very controversial band. It is part of “Big Four of Thrash” alongside Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax.
The current lineup includes founding members and primary songwriters: James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Robert Trujillo.
Guitarist Dave Mustaine (who formed Megadeth after being fired from Metallica) and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton (who died in a bus accident in Sweden in 1986) and Jason Newsted are former band members.
Metallica performed for the first time in Romania on June 9, 1999.
In 2019, Metallica performed in Bucharest, part of “World Wired Tour”and donated 250,000 euros, money obtained from ticket sales, to the Donate Life Association for the construction of the first Pediatric Oncology and Radiotherapy Hospital in Romania.
