The PNL communication office shared several images with party leader Nicolae Ciucă and Lucian Bode on a platform of the North Railway Station and on the train that was going to take the two leaders to Brașov.
During the trip to Brasov, the two leaders were caught while they were working.
PNL announced on Wednesday, in Brașov, that George Scripcaru is the party's candidate for Brașov City Hall. Cripcaru will also be supported by the PSD, according to the Coalition's decision.
Adrian Veștea, the PNL Minister of Development, will run for the head of the CJ, after which the PSD will have another candidate of its own.
Scandal in PNL Timiș
The PSD-PNL calculations left several leaders without candidates who had already announced themselves in the race. In Timiș, the support of the PSD candidate for the head of the CJ caused a scandal that ended with the removal of the opposition Alin Nica from the management of the branch.
Following the agreement between PNL and PSD, according to Adevărul information, the liberal Nicolae Robu will run for the position of mayor of Timișoara, and the social democrat Alfred Simonis for the County Council. Thus, the current head of the CJ Timiș, Alin Nica, head of the PNL Timiș branch, was removed from the party. As such, Alin Nica will most likely go to Ludovic Orban's party, Forța Dreptei, or run as an independent in this summer's local elections.
“It was a bare-bones execution, which I have no other way to describe, not mine, but Timișoara's and Timișu's, because it practically denies the right of the liberals to have the chance to run for and run against the left here, in the county Timiș, they basically excluded us from this whole equation, and this is what we blame the central leadership for. Obviously, we will find a way so that the interests and desires, the aspirations of the right-wing people of Timișoara will continue to be represented, and I will make a concrete announcement in this regard in the next few days. I definitely want to run for the County Council for a new mandate”said Alin Nica.
