The leader of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, stated, on Wednesday evening, that he talked with the president of the USR, Elena Lasconi, leaving the way open for dialogue, but he does not think that a common political project can be reached before the elections at the end of the year.

“I talked with Mrs. Elena Lasconi, I still left the way open for dialogue. Until now, I haven’t received any signal, I don’t think anything can happen anymore because I already saw the candidacy posters for the presidential elections a long time ago. As such, if we fail to put together a common effort, for a common project…”said Nicolae Ciucă, according to News.ro.
He added that it was not possible to complete the scenarios, after Elena Lasconi referred to the PNL sanitation.
“Every time the situation is volatile and sure, in politics almost everything…We didn’t manage to finalize the scenarios, after that there were those recommendations and nothing like that happens publicly, when it comes to sanitation, I don’t think that between the parties sanitation can be carried out. Those who carry out sanitation are the citizens when they go to vote”Ciucă added.
The statements come after, in July, the president of the USR, Elena Lasconi, declared that she does not believe in the polls that do not give her many chances to reach the second round of the presidential elections and announced that she will talk with the PNL representatives.
She then declared that the Liberals should do “a little cleaning, sanitation” inside the formation, a statement that disturbed the PNL leaders.
