Nicușor Dan sent a congratulatory message to Karol Nawrocki, the winner of the Polish presidential elections on Tuesday. The President of Romania expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation and regional security.

“Congratulations Karol Nawrocki for your electoral victory. I look forward to collaborating, to strengthen the strategic partnership between Romania and Poland,” wrote the head of the Romanian state in a post on the platform X.
“The close cooperation between our countries remains essential for ensuring security on the Eastern flank and promoting a cohesive and safe Europe,” he pointed out.
Karol Nawrocki, the nationalist candidate of the conservative opposition, won the Presidential election in Poland. The result marks a major challenge for the centrist government led by Donald Tusk. It has been driving since 2023, after its coalition has defeated the Party Law and Justice (PIS) in the parliamentary elections.
Romania and Poland are strategic and allied partners in NATO, collaborating closely in key fields such as regional security, defense and support of the eastern flank of the Alliance.
