The Presidential Administration announced the first visit to the Republic of Moldova of President Nicușor Dan. The head of state had previously expressed his desire to visit the neighboring state among his first official travel.

President Nicuşor Dan will pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday, to be received by the president of the neighboring country, Maia Sandu.
According to the agenda announced by the Presidential Administration, at 13.40, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu will be received at 13.40, the two will have official and official talks.
The two voting heads subsequently hold a common press conference.
On the agenda are scheduled and meetings with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, and with the prime minister, Dorin Recean.
In the evening Nicușor Dan will participate in an official dinner offered by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
The head of state will also meet with the Olympic students in the Republic of Moldova and will participate in the event “Common European Future of Romania and the Republic of Moldova”.
The President of Romania expressed his desire to make his first external visit to the Republic of Moldova from the first days of taking over the mandate. However, the head of state has emphasized since then that most likely the agenda of external events will not allow this.
The first external visit of President Nicușor Dan was in Poland, in Warsaw, on May 25, before the official takeover of the mandate. The head of state then participated in an electoral event in support of the candidacy of Mayor Warsaw, Vafal Trzaskowski, in the presidential elections in this country.
In the presidential elections Nicușor Dan was voted by 138,320 Bessarabians with Romanian citizenship, which represents 88% of the suffrage, while his counter -candidate, George Simion, obtained a number of votes over seven times lower, ie about 18,870 votes (12%).
