After a first half without much surprises, Rapid managed to open the scoring through Ermal Krasniqi (52). Poli Iasi equalized shortly after, through Tunisian Adel Bettaieb (55), after a blunder of great proportions by Cristian Săpunaru.
The final was an alert one, in which Rapid tried to score for the victory, but Poli Iasi managed to score two goals.
After the Englishman Shayon Harrison (83) had a goal disallowed for offside, Poli Iasi took the lead with the goal scored by Alin Roman (87), with a shot without taking over, from the Brazilian Allanzinho's pass. The team coached by Leo Grozavu missed two more important opportunities, through Allanzinho and the Swede Kevin Kabran, alone with goalkeeper Marian Aioani, and Harrison closed the scoreboard (90+4), from the Brazilian Jatoba's pass.
The starting shot was given by Ionuţ Mihai Bâlbă, the former striker of the Polytechnic, who collaborated in 2009 in Iasi with Cristiano Bergodi.
Rapid was coming after a streak of five wins this year and two draws at the end of last year.
Poli Iași had obtained only one point in the last three stages.
In the round, Rapid won 3-2.
